Ouzo Festival is of course the most important of the festivals that is organized in Plomari at the end of July. The distilleries of the area offer their product to the locals and the foreigners with traditional appetizers in combination with gastronomy lectures. The festival usually lasts for three days with dances and music from local traditional orchestras or bands and at last night the pick of the bunch comes from famous Greek artists that give concerts.

The Olive Harvest Festival- Glitomata At the beginning of June is organized this traditional festival for celebrating the olive harvest. Plomari is also famous for its quality olive oil that produces. The standardized olive oils “Irene” and “Aegean Gold” won many prizes in International and Panhellenic Competitions.

Festival of the Horse Here in Plomari there are some very active horse clubs that organize cultural activities. The Festival of Horse is organized in August and lasting three days. It is offered an exciting programme of competitions during the day and at night a folk revelry with live music, competitions of the most beautiful horse according its class and an award ceremony.

Navy Week The “Navy Week” as a traditional event is organized in July and is offered a varied programme of events and water activities like yacht and sailboat racing, swimming and fishing races, spearfishing. The week is completed with a Greek music night by drinking ouzo with traditional food and an award ceremony for the winners.

Easter in Plomari There are a lot of local traditions and events that organized in Holy Week of Easter every year in Plomari. On Good Friday the local parishes decorate their epitaphs and a peculiar tradition is exactly that: the procession of epitaphs at the central square. On Holy Saturday is celebrated Jesus Christ’s Resurrection and on Sunday (Easter) is organized the local tradition of second Resurrection in honour of the sailors.
